NDG Leader Toastmasters Celebrates Success at the 2026 Toastmasters Area 61 Speech Contest

Justin Nantais takes first place in the International Speech Contest, while Jeff Wilgus earns third place in the Humorous Speech Contest.

NDG Leader Toastmasters is celebrating the achievements of two remarkable members, Justin Nantais and Jeff Wilgus, who represented our club at the 2026 Toastmasters Area 61 Speech Contest on Monday, October 19.

The competition brought together speakers ready to share their stories, challenge themselves, and put their communication skills to the test. Our members rose to the occasion, demonstrating the courage, dedication, and growth that make the Toastmasters journey so rewarding.

Justin Nantais took first place in the International Speech Contest, earning his place in the next phase of the competition: the Division Contest, scheduled for November 2026. We look forward to cheering him on as he continues his journey toward the Division trophy!

Jeff Wilgus also made us proud, securing third place in the Humorous Speech Contest. His achievement is a testament to his commitment to developing his speaking skills and bringing humour to the stage.

A journey of courage, leadership, and growth

Club President Judith Mugeni shared her pride in the two competitors:

“At NDG, our mantra is to speak, lead, grow together, and have fun while doing it. Our two members embodied that spirit as they participated all the way from the club competition to the Area Contest.”

Stepping onto a competition stage takes courage. It is not easy to raise your hand, put yourself out there, and invite others to evaluate your skills. Competing at any level requires preparation, perseverance, and a willingness to learn, regardless of the outcome.

That is why we are so proud of Justin and Jeff. Their achievements go beyond placements and trophies. They remind us that growth happens when we take on new challenges, support one another, and dare to step outside our comfort zones.

Growth doesn't end here!

As a club, we are excited to see Justin move forward to the Division Contest in November. We will be cheering him on as he takes the next step in this incredible journey.

And beyond the competition, our growth continues. Who will take on the next challenge? Who will raise their hand, discover their potential, and inspire others along the way?
